Disclaimer

This site publishes research about how consumer law firms run intake. It is not advice, it has tested nothing, and it makes no promise about any product or any outcome.

last updated2026-08-20

Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing on it is a legal, ethical or regulatory conclusion. Client intake sits next to questions of professional conduct, advertising rules, conflicts, confidentiality and unauthorised practice, and those questions are outside what this project is qualified to answer. Where the research runs into one, the site says so and stops rather than hedging. If you need an answer to one, ask a lawyer admitted in your jurisdiction or your bar's ethics line.

The operator is not a lawyer and does not practise law. That, and what it means for how the site is written, is set out on About.

Informational only

The research, comparisons, definitions and references here are published for general information. They are not professional, legal, financial, tax, accounting, medical or psychological advice, and they are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation. Decisions you take on the basis of what you read here are your own.

Nothing here has been tested

This is the disclaimer most specific to this site. It runs no first-party research: no product test, no mystery shopping, no survey of firms, no timing study, no benchmark of its own. Where a product capability appears here, it is a statement the vendor published about its own product on a dated capture, recorded as that vendor's claim and never as a finding about what the product does. Verification here means a capture, not a test.

No product on this site is scored, ranked or recommended, and no comparison names a winner. Where two vendors are set against each other, the exercise is what each one states and where its statements stop.

No guaranteed outcomes

This site publishes no case studies, no client results, no testimonials and no outcome figures of its own, so it promises nothing. Figures quoted from other publishers are quoted in order to be examined, and several of them are shown on these pages to be weaker than the pages quoting them suggest. Nothing here is a projection or an implied guarantee of any result for your firm.

No consulting relationship

Reading this site, or following the link on it to the publisher's consulting practice, does not create a consulting, advisory, fiduciary or other professional relationship. A relationship begins only when both parties sign a written engagement stating scope, deliverables, timeline and fee, however detailed any prior conversation has been.

Commercial relationships

The Crow's Signal, which publishes this site, works with firms on intake systems. The research is published openly and is not gated behind that work. Where a commercial relationship with a product named here ever exists, it is disclosed on that product's own card, next to its link, and it never changes a matrix cell, a capability statement, a capture date or a conclusion.

Third-party content and links

Links from this site are references. We do not control those sites, and we are not responsible for what they publish, what they collect or how they change. Quoting a source here is not an endorsement of it, and on this site it is often the opposite: sources are quoted so that what they say can be checked against what they are cited for.

Captures are snapshots. A vendor page can change the day after it is captured, which is why every figure here carries the date it was taken. A dated capture says what a page said on that date and nothing about today.

Errors and omissions

We aim for accuracy and this site is a living document: some statements will be wrong, become wrong with time, or be incomplete. Reporting one is genuinely useful, and how to do it is on About.
